This means:

  • Yes, the events we cover actually happened
  • No, government officials aren't actually running startups
  • Yes, officials said those things (usually)
  • No, we don't actually think the kayak launch is a tech IPO

Accuracy Statement

We strive to ensure the underlying facts are accurate. The jokes we make about those facts? Less so. If we get something wrong (the facts, not the jokes), we'll correct it. If you don't like our jokes, well, that's a you problem.

Fair Use

We believe our use of news content, public records, and Facebook posts falls under Fair Use for purposes of:

  • Commentary and Criticism
  • Parody and Satire
  • News Reporting (sort of)
  • Educational Purposes (teaching people about local government, badly)

Website Ownership

Monroe County Minutes may or may not own various protest/parody domains. Any such domains would be parody/protest websites and NOT affiliated with:

  • The actual businesses or entities being parodied
  • Anyone with actual money or business experience
  • Reality in general

Any merchandise mentioned is satirical in nature. Geographical preferences are not political statements.

Comment Policy

We're not responsible for what people say in Facebook comments. That chaos is all on you, Monroe County (and surrounding areas).

Corrections Policy

If we get a FACT wrong, email us at [email protected] or message us on Facebook. We'll correct it and probably make a joke about our mistake.

If you don't like our OPINION, that's not a correction. That's a disagreement. Feel free to start your own satirical news site.

Privacy Policy

We don't collect your data because we don't know how. If you subscribe to our newsletter (eventually), we'll have your email. We promise to:

  • Not sell it (who would buy it?)
  • Not spam you (much)
  • Probably forget we have it
